City Services Updates
Remember to take pictures of your storm damage. The damage assessment process is critical to being eligible for Independent Assistance from FEMA. Report all damage to your property to the State of Texas using the iSTAT tool- https://damage.tdem.texas.gov
Those with insurance should contact their insurance companies before applying for FEMA assistance. FEMA will only cover damages beyond the scope of the property owner's insurance plan.
If you cannot remove debris and "muck & gut" your property yourself, help is available. Contact the Crisis Cleanup hotline at 832-509-2977. Be mindful of scammers who will take advantage of the situation. Report all scams and fraud to the Texas Attorney General.

Cypress Assistance Ministries is providing non-perishable food to anyone in need. Residents must provide a photo ID and proof of residency.
CAM's food pantry is located at 12930 Cypress N. Houston, in Cypress. They are open Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Northeast Houston
HAAM Social Services offers food assistance for residents living in the following zip codes: 77044, 77302, 77306, 77336, 77338, 77339, 77345, 77346, 77347, 77357, 77365, 77396, 77532, 77372. No appointments are necessary for the food pantry but you must request assistance here.
HAAM is located at 1302 1st St. East, in Humble.
Northwest Houston
Northwest Assistance Ministries offers food assistance for residents living in the following zip codes: 77014, 77032, 77038, 77050, 77060, 77064, 77066, 77067, 77068, 77069, 77070, 77073, 77086, 77090, 77373, 77379, 77388, and 77389. Click here for assistance.

West Houston
WHAM Ministries operates a food pantry offering a wide assortment of nutritious produce, organic food, and staples. Register here for assistance in all zip codes. WHAM is located at 10501 Meadowglen Lane, in the Spring Branch area (Houston).
Disaster Assistance
If you experienced damage to your home during Thursday's storm, call the American Red Cross Texas Gulf Coast Region at 1-800-RED-CROSS.
Financial assistance and other resources may be available to you. The Red Cross told ABC13 it will enter the areas hit hardest by Thursday's storm as soon as it is safe, providing relief and comfort to those in need.

Northeast Houston
HAAM Social Services offers rental and utility assistance for residents living in the following zip codes: 77044, 77302, 77306, 77336, 77338, 77339, 77345, 77346, 77347, 77357, 77365, 77396, 77532, 77372. Register for assistance here.
West Houston

Shelters
The Red Cross has been operating shelters in Harris and San Jacinto counties since the Hurricane Harvey-level floods we saw earlier this month.
Anyone planning to stay in a Red Cross shelter should bring prescription medications, extra clothing, pillows, blankets, hygiene supplies, important documents and comfort items.

HOUSTON
The Houston Health Department will distribute 400 free portable air conditioners to area seniors, people with disabilities and caregivers of disabled children. People in Houston and Harris County can apply for an air conditioner unit starting Friday, May 17. They can apply by calling the Harris County Area Agency on Aging, a division of the department, at 832-393-4301
Recipients will receive information and assistance with the installation of the units. Only people who have never received an air conditioner unit through the department are eligible to apply. People 60 and older are considered seniors and eligible to apply.
